Grand Turk is the capital of the Turks and Caicos Islands; a British Crown Colony located approximately 575 miles southeast of Miami, Florida. The Turks and Caicos consist of 8 inhabited islands and over 40 uninhabited cays that enjoy a year-round average temperature of 83 degrees. Water temperatures average 84 degrees in summer and 76 degrees in winter. Grand Turk is a limestone island which rises out of crystal clear turquoise waters and visibility often exceeds 150 ft. making Grand Turk a diver's paradise. The Turks and Caicos has scheduled air service into Providenciales by British Airways from London Heathrow, American Airlines, U.S. Air and Delta, and Spirit Air direct from the U.S. and Air Jamaica from the U.S. via Montego Bay. SkyKing and Turks & Caicos Air provides flights from the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Sea Eye Dive Reservations office can book your hotel and dive package along with flights from Providenciales into Grand Turk and to other islands within the Turks and Caicos. All Visitors must have a valid passport and return ticket to enter the country. The U.S. dollar is the primary currency used and major credit cards are widely accepted.

Sea Eye offers daily diving on the reef wall, which is a short 5-15 minute boat ride from most Grand Turk hotels. Diving is on the leeward side of the Turks Island Passage, a 22-mile wide channel that is over 7,000 ft. deep. This passage separates the Turks Islands from the Caicos Islands and in winter months is the migration route for Humpback Whales headed south to their mating and calving grounds on the Mouchoir and Silver Banks.

The marine life in the waters surrounding Grand Turk is plentiful with a wide array of tropical fish. Dolphins, eagle rays, turtles, manta rays, octopus, crabs, lobsters are frequently spotted on the daily dives. Permanent moorings mark the dive sites and the Grand Turk reef architecture is varied with tunnels, archways, and chimneys. Make friends with one of the resident groupers or enjoy a lazy afternoon beachcombing or snorkeling with stingrays at Gibbs Cay.
